It is likely that you will have many prosthesis in your lifetime. While it is wise to keep one old prosthesis as a back-up leg, consider donating your other old prosthesis to a limb bank. By law, artificial limbs cannot be reused in the United States. They may however be disassembled and distributed to needy countries throughout the world.
